Nocturne is a new original musical, written and created by One More Saga Productions, based on Norwegian and other Scandinavian folklore and fairytales.

Set in the forests of Norway, we follow Solveig as she journeys into the trees and discovers strange and mysterious characters along the way, learning that things are not as they should be. Follow her on her journey through the dark to see if she can restore balance, overcome nightmares and uncover the truth.

Nocturne is set in a forest inspired by Norwegian flora and fauna. The trees are based on birch, pine and oak (as mentioned in the script). These trees are designed to be lightweight and easy to manoeuver around the stage, allowing us to represent the changing forest as Solveig journeys deeper. The set also includes lightweight boulders which can be moved with ease yet have a strong enough structure to be stood upon. Nocturne features a lightweight stone statue of a 'bride', that is spun to reveal a face during the production, a portable 'front door' fitted with wheels and brakes, allowing it to be moved about stage, and a variety of other props belonging to the characters.

Nocturne uses puppets in key roles - Hannah's first time designing and building them on this scale - these include wearable puppets like the White Bear King Valemon, two Troll heads, Nokken in Swamp Monster form, as well as the hand-held puppet of Nokken in horse form. Masks were used in the production; the white masks belonging to House Mouse and Country Mouse, alongside varying woodland style masks of the Forest Creatures.

Hannah designed the poster and logo used in the final production of Nocturne.
